Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office Highway Standoff
A debrief of a tactical situation which started when a DNR warden initiated a pursuit of a stolen vehicle. During the pursuit, shots are fired at pursuing officers. The male subject demanded a hostage negotiator indicating he had two hostages, an adult female, the other, a 6-month-old baby.
This resulted in a several hours long standoff with a multi-jurisdictional response from assisting law enforcement tactical assets. Lt. Anderson will cover all aspects of the operation, while Det. La Fleur will show perspective from the negotiation side in this complex and somewhat unusual incident.
