Det. Krystal Rodriguez

Detective Krystal Rodriguez is a law enforcement officer with over 12 years of experience with the Corpus Christi Police Department. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and a master’s degree in applied criminology from Lamar University.

Detective Rodriguez has served in multiple roles throughout her career, including Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, TCOLE certified instructor, Firearms Instructor, Peer Support Team Leader, Hostage Negotiator Team Leader and Homicide Detective in the Criminal Investigations Division. She currently serves as a NIBIN Task Force Officer with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

She has been a member of the Hostage Negotiations Team for over a decade and has participated in more than 50 negotiation incidents, serving as the primary negotiator in over 25 of those cases.
