Capt. Emily Perez

Captain Emily Perez began her law enforcement career in November 1999 with the Nueces County Sheriff’s Department, where she served five years in corrections. She then promoted to supervisor at the Corpus Christi City Detention Center, serving in that role for two years. In April 2006, she joined the Corpus Christi Police Department. During her tenure with CCPD, Captain Perez has served in numerous specialized and leadership roles, including Patrol Officer, Directed Patrol Officer, Explorer Advisor, Peer Support Officer, Hostage Negotiator, Academy Instructor, Recruiter, and Field Training Officer. She has been a certified TCOLE Instructor for fifteen years. Captain Perez was promoted to Lieutenant in September 2014 and to Captain in July 2024. She is a graduate of the LEMIT Leadership Command College Class #102. Throughout her supervisory career, she has maintained active leadership roles within the Hostage Negotiations Team and Peer Support Team, demonstrating a continued commitment to officer wellness and development, crisis response, and organizational excellence.
