Officer Steve Hutchason

Steve Hutchason has been employed as a Commissioned Officer with LVMPD for over 22 years. During his tenure with LVMPD he served in various patrol functions for 15+ years. His favorite positions in patrol were with the Mounted Patrol Unit, becoming a Field Training Officer and serving as Defensive Tactics and Firearms Instructor for over 20 years of his career. His passion for teaching led to him instructing and rewriting many of the existing 1000+ lesson plans on the agency for over five years. He eventually landed in the Special Events section for the last 3 years and enjoys planning all of the events for Las Vegas that need overtime officers, such as New Year’s Eve, Festivals, Sporting Events, especially the local hockey team and Stanley Cup Champions, Vegas Golden Knights and also the Las Vegas Raiders. His favorite accomplishment has been with the Crisis Negotiation Team for the last 5+ years and being able to use his Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice specifying in Sociology.
