Capt. Lafate E. “Spanky” Day, (Ret.)

Retired Major Lafate Elliott Day, Jr., completed 33 years and 8 months with the Lafourche Parish (LA) Sheriff’s Office beginning as a correctional deputy and retiring as a Major. He served as the Regional Training Academy Director, Negotiations Team Leader and Crisis Management Unit Commander. He was on the Louisiana Association of Crisis Negotiators Executive Board for 10 years, 6 years on NCNA, and has presented to multiple state and regional Negotiations associations.
