Midland TX Incident
In March 2024, an armed man took his girlfriend and her 8-yr old daughter hostage during a 26-hour barricaded incident in Midland, TX. This presentation will highlight the interagency response of Midland Police Department, TX DPS, and the FBI during negotiations and eventual tactical intervention by the FBI Hostage Rescue Team. Lessons learned include how to coordinate interagency response, share real-time intelligence and situational awareness, and manage shift changes during critical phases of the incident.
